Facebook Messenger Turns End-to-End Encryption on by Default for Individual Chats Facebook Messenger chats will now be protected by end-to-end encryption (E2EE) by default for individual chats and calls, according to Meta. Existing conversations will be protected by E2EE and new chats will also be protected by the technology. The rollout is expected to take place over time, according to the company.
