US FTC Says Amazon Ring Violated Customer Privacy, Announces $5.8-Million Settlement US Federal Trade Commission said in a court filing on Wednesday that Amazon's Ring doorbell camera unit spied for months on female customers in 2017 with cameras placed in bedrooms and bathrooms and announced a $5.8 million (roughly Rs. 47 crore) settlement with the company over privacy violations.
