Alibaba Appoints Eddie Wu as New CEO; Joseph Tsai to Be New Chairman Starting September 10 Chinese tech giant Alibaba said Tuesday it will replace chairman and CEO Daniel Zhang with Joseph Tsai as chairman and Eddie Wu as CEO. Both appointments will take effect on September 10.
