'Glaze' Software Can Thwart Copycat AI Tools From Stealing Artist Styles, Researchers Say Glaze, a free software tool released by researchers at the University of Chicago, can protect an artist's style from being copied by generative artificial intelligence (AI) services. The software makes small changes to digital images — invisible to the human eye — that act as a "style cloak" when they are posted online, according to the researchers.
