WhatsApp Pay India Head Manesh Mahatme Said to Quit Firm Ahead of Plans to Ramp Up Payments Service WhatsApp Pay India head Manesh Mahatme has quit the company ahead of the service's plans to expand in the country and compete with Alphabet's Google Pay, Ant-backed Paytm, and Walmart's PhonePe. The executive, who joined the Meta-owned messaging service in April 2021, is said to have joined Amazon India as director of product in the company's e-commerce division.
