TikTok Maker Launches Kesong App in China in Bid to Compete With Market Leader TikTok’s Chinese owner ByteDance has entered the lifestyle sector of social media with a new app, Kesong. After a string of hits from news aggregator Toutiao to short video app Douyin and its overseas equivalent TikTok, the Kesong app offers users shopping and lifestyle recommendations similar to Xiaohongshu, the current market leader.
